It’s been a fast-paced start to the year for Quickslide. Managing Director Ben Weber discusses the fabricator’s upcoming investments, latest product and digital developments, and gives trade partners a hint of what’s coming next.

A brand new Legacy

There’s no doubt about it – it has been a cracking first quarter for Quickslide. Starting with the biggest news, of course, is Legacy’s relaunch. Five years after taking the sash window market by storm, Legacy has been given a makeover with a new slim midrail.

“Our new Legacy is now available to order. It features our slimmest ever midrail, which at 37mm is 12mm slimmer than its standard counterpart,” says Ben.

“This makes Legacy an even closer match to traditional sash windows than ever before and, along with newly refined sash horns that means the woodgrain foiled end caps now run seamlessly with the shape of the horn, Legacy is now virtually indistinguishable from authentic timber vertical sliders.

“When we introduced Legacy, our aim was to give homeowners the ideal alternative to traditional sash windows, unbeatable in performance and perfect for period homes or conservation areas. With our latest iteration, we’re honouring our pledge to keep heritage ‘up to date’.

Introducing Legacy On-Screen

To support Legacy’s marketing, the relaunch coincides with the arrival of Legacy On-Screen.

“Legacy On-Screen is our custom-built web tool, which enables our trade partners to promote Legacy on their websites without having to update any information themselves,” explains Ben.

“As an installer, our innovative marketing solution means your Legacy web tool will come directly from Quickslide with all the latest info, images, and technical details on it. So you can promote the new Legacy VS easily, quickly and accurately without having to do a thing yourself.”

Quickslide customer days

The new slim midrail, Legacy On-Screen, and online ordering system will be a highlight at Quickslide’s upcoming customer days – special events where trade partners can meet the Quickslide team.

Taking place in April and May, Quickslide customer days are being held up and down the country to bring trade partners together to learn more about Quickslide’s products, valuable market insights, and how Quickslide can help installers grow their business. “There’s nothing like bringing people together and showing them firsthand what we do,” says Ben. On our customer days, we’ll showcase our latest innovations, including our game-changing new slim slide and stack door system, Quick-Glide. We’ll have our experts on hand to answer questions, and attendees will also have the chance to be among the first to test-drive our new online ordering system.”

Investments in automation and digital

Quickslide will be introducing a new bespoke online ordering system. It will allow trade partners to generate instant quotes and even place their own orders online.

“Enabling our customers to place their own orders gives them greater control and access to real-time information throughout the ordering process,” says Ben. We’re also setting up delivery notifications and tracking, so this closer collaboration with our partners continues throughout the whole ordering and delivery process.

“We’re investing in these digital capabilities just as we have in automation to improve, streamline, and grow alongside our trade partners. We’ll be investing £1m in automation this year, on top of the £1.7m we recently spent on our state-of-the-art bespoke machining centre. This investment was a crucial part of the process that allowed us to achieve the changes we wanted to make to Legacy, to create our most authentic vertical slider yet at scale.”

Future focus

“It’s great to see everything we have worked so hard for now coming together: our investments in machinery, our new Legacy VS, which is available to order now, and the digital capabilities to better support our partners as we continue to grow our business and theirs.

“We’ll be increasing our fleet size soon to help us accommodate this growth, and we are now focussing on what we need to do to ensure we stay ahead of the pack when it comes to offering the most authentic heritage style vertical sliders supported by unrivalled customer service and marketing support.”
